Freshman year of college is almost always tough for everyone. It can be even harder if you decide to go to a school where you don't know a single person. Learning the ropes, finding your way and figuring this whole life thing out is difficult. With that being said, here is a list of things I wish I had known before my freshman year of college.

1. Even if other freshmen act like they know what's going on, they probably don't.

Everyone fakes it until they make it. It's ok to ask for help.

2. Get involved in every single thing that you have interest in.

Getting involved is the easiest way to meet new people and to make friends.

3. Class is easy to skip but it's even easier to fall. behind

It is incredibly tempting especially when it's sunny out, but do what you have to do to be able to do what you want to do.

4. You have to plan.

You'll be busy all the time. If you don't plan and write things down, odds are you'll forget.

5. There will always be another party.

Stay in and study for your test you have next week. You can go out next weekend after the test.

6. You have so much freedom it's unreal

You can eat whatever you want, do whatever you want, sleep all day, party whenever, but it can be a dangerous game so be careful.

7. It's OK to miss home.

You'll probably talk to your mom on the phone at least a couple times a week. It's hard to leave the people you've been with for the last 18 years.

8. You will make new friends but that doesn't mean you forget about your friends from home.

S/O to the besties from home. They make your breaks worthwhile.

9. You only have four years here, make the most of them.

Take advantage of everything that comes your way.

10. You blink and this year will be gone. It really does go that fast.

It really is crazy how fast this year has come and gone. They say this is the best and quickest four years of your life and they aren't kidding.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
