Summer weather is in the air and you know what that means: adventuring in the city with your crew. What better place to explore than Minneapolis? Here is the perfect day with all the necessary stops to experience all the Twin Cities has to offer. Because why not start off the day with a little adventure?
1. Geocaching
Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt where the treasure can be found by typing in a set of GPS coordinates. Keep your eyes and ears open on this adventure because these boxes can be well hidden.
2. Window shopping on Grand Ave.
Grand Ave. is known for its pricey shops and fabulous food. Even if you walk out of Anthropology feeling like the poor college student you are, you can always drown your sorrows in a slice of Neapolitan pizza from Punch or in a scoop of ice cream from the Grand ol' creamery.
3. Kayak on Lake Calhoun
You can rent kayaks, bikes, canoes, paddleboats, and paddle boards right off of Lake Calhoun. You can kind of go with the flow with this one (literally).
4. Minnehaha Falls
Minnehaha falls is a powerful waterfall nestled in the heart of Minneapolis. Many trails surround the falls making it the perfect destination to explore nature while never stepping a foot out of the city.
5. Stone Arch Bridge
While the bridge itself is a perfect spot to take a gorgeous picture (see above), there are many other things to do. You can ride a bike or walk across the bridge, explore Mill Ruins Park for a bit of history, or relax in Gold Metal Park amongst the many sculptures.
6. Loring Park
There is a fountain sculpture shaped like a dandelion. Need I say more?
7. Quarry Jumping St. Cloud
Not exactly in Minneapolis, but it's worth the hike. If you're a daredevil, take the hike out to St. Cloud and jump off the quarries there. While you're at it, drag your best friends off the edge with you. It's a better trust exercise than the trust fall.
8. Nelson's Ice Cream
Where the child's size is the size of a child!
9. Vali-Hi Drive in
And last but not least, end your day by digging your hand in a bowl of buttery popcorn while watching a movie at a vintage drive-in movie theater. There's nothing better than bringing the 50s back to life with your best friends by your side.
Now grab your camera and your squad and explore Minneapolis!
