These Are My Confessions

When you're life is literally a sitcom...

Being that I am a new writer for the Odyssey I thought I would allow you readers to get to know me better in an informal manner. I often say that my life is a sitcom because the things that I do/the things that happen to me make me feel like someone is getting personal enjoyment from watching me. I'm not mad about it though. My life entertains me as well. So this first list will start a series of lists. Some of the lists will be questions (some will be answered some not) and some of the lists will be Movie/TV related. Those are examples of what is to come but not all that's to come. However just like Usher said on one of his best albums by far, These are my Confessions...

1. I tried on a pair of pants, broke them and then told the dressing room attendant they were already broken. To make matters worse I walked out of the dressing room and told my friend I tried on a pair of broken jeans... In other words I commit.

2. I once farted in a elevator because I thought I was going to be alone but then someone walked in. Unable to face my shame I blurted out "Whoa, the last person really blew it up in here" and then we rode in silence.

3. I walked into a black box theater for a show late and needed to find a seat. I wanted one close to the door so I wouldn't have to climb over people. I began feeling the seat that was right in front of me. I felt that seat for a long time before I realized there was actually a guy sitting there. I don't know what's worse what I did, or him sitting there watching this happen and waiting for me to look up at his face. In my defense he felt like a chair. (Is that mean?)

4. I have never in 20 years told the boy I liked that I actually liked him. I have always just assumed he knew.

5. My biggest fear is doing nothing with my life.

6. I also have an irrational fear of mushrooms. They are terrifying. Once I kicked a mushroom and it literally exploded on me... I've been traumatized ever since.

7. I love re-watching Gilmore Girls and Glee and anyone who thinks that's lame can fight me... I am kidding... Please don't fight me. But I would suggest giving these shows a try.

8. I have on two separate occasions sneezed and said Bless you to myself... and not on purpose.

9. I once ran into a guy that I ghosted and then ignored again in Wal-Mart. I only ghosted him because I thought he wasn't real... His pictures did not seem real. Even seeing him in person was weird. He was winning in the end because he actually looked like his pictures in person and I was looking crazy that day.

10. I watch trash reality shows on TLC, MTV, and ABC exclusively. I love them. I once stayed up until 2 am watching "My 600 lb Life" with my grandmother.

So those are 10 things about me. There are so many other weird or personal things I can say but if you want to read them you'll just have to wait for the next confessional. Until then, hug your family, laugh at least one thing today, and smile because you're alive.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
