Why We Need Tomi Lahren

Tomi Lahren

Tomi Lahren has become an Internet sensation.

With 3.7 million likes on her Facebook page and counting and an average of 1 million views on her Final Thoughts videos, it's easy to see why.

Tomi rose to fame last year in a video where she absolutely shredded President Obama and now she has her own show on The Blaze that absolutely infuriates liberals like many of my fellow Odyssey creators.

I've seen plenty of anti-Tomi articles on here by liberal college students who are offended by her political and moral stance on many controversial subjects and held my tongue, but after seeing yet another one being promoted the other day that was titled, 2017 Doesn't Need Tomi Lahren, I had to say something .

So, here is why we do need Tomi Lahren.

Tomi is a young, passionate conservative individual who stands up and speaks out for what she believes is right and she does not let anyone, even millions of crazy Beyonce fans sending her death threats, faze her.

She is not angry, these liberal college students who I see writing on here all seem to think that because she disagrees with them that she is angry.

That isn't anger, it's passion.

When you are passionate about something, you get on a roll. Believe me, I have been there a time or two. When you're a speaker who speaks about what they are passionate about, you don't sit there speaking monotonously, you get into it and you just might raise your voice a little bit.

But because she disagrees with the mainstream opinion, she's "angry".

Tomi is not the one who is angry, the left is angry because she believes in the Second Amendment, she doesn't need mainstream feminism, she calls out those who disrespect our flag and nation and she doesn't sit down and shut up like they want her to.

We need Tomi because Tomi gets our viewpoints across in a way that many of us only wish that we could.

We are college aged Conservatives who are the silent majority who are berated and belittled for daring to speak out against anything liberal.

Tomi is 24 years old, she's educated, she's passionate and she's getting people's attention in a way that a Millenial Conservative has not done before.

We finally have a voice and that voice is doing a fantastic job at giving our message across and giving us an audience.

We are sick and tired of being stomped all over and having news anchor after news anchor berate us for having an opinion and Tomi is letting the world know that mainstream media does not speak for all of us.

The author also calls Tomi closed minded and says she "spews hate speech". Just because someone shares your political viewpoints does not mean that they are closed minded, nor does it mean what they say is a "hate speech". She then goes on to say that she believes in the things that Tomi does not, which is her one and only basis for the entire article.

Tomi is ruffling the feathers of liberals left and right and up and down and they have proven over and over again with every whiny Odyssey article posted and every hateful comment on her videos that she is doing exactly what she wants to be doing.

Tomi is out there to give us a voice, to fill the silence and let the left know that they are not the only ones with an opinion.

In a Facebook post from December 29th, Tomi details a run-in with a woman at a bar in Dallas that harassed her because she disagreed with her. If Tomi was a closed minded individual that was hateful and intolerant like the left loves to say that she is, she would not have treated the woman with respect and would have made an idiot out of herself by yelling and harassing the woman. But she didn't. She refused to argue and told the woman that they were obviously not going to agree so why not leave it at that and wished her a good night before the woman kept harassing her.

Who's the hateful one now?

Most of the reason people are so disgusted with Tomi is because of her views on the Black Lives Matter group. She does not support them and calls them the New KKK and makes people's heads spin whenever she speaks about it. She gets death threats on the daily for her view on this alone and had the majority of crazy Beyonce fans coming after on her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for months who were making death threats to her. She made them angry because she called them out for rioting and looting and destroying property and killing police officers who were in the line of duty. All these people do is prove her point and show their true colors.

Tomi said in an interview "Whether you love what I’m saying or hate what I’m saying, you’re having a reaction to it, and that is exactly what needs to happen in this country", a quote which the author says "scares her".

Really?

Our country has become one where everyone tiptoes around trying not to offend anyone with their opinion and it is way past time that we have someone like Tomi who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and make a few people's heads spin. But most of all, we need her because the silent majority needs just as much of a voice as the loud minority. Just because the loud minority is getting annoyed that we are not as much a silent majority anymore does not mean we need to silence those who disagree with us.

So let's not leave Tomi Lahren behind in 2016, let's leave the whiny articles and death threats to Tomi Lahren behind instead because after all, tolerance is a two-way street.

And those are my Final Thoughts.

God Bless and good night.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
