The Ultimate Summer Country & Rock Playlist For The Perfect Beach Day

There are three key ingredients for the perfect beach day: good weather, good company, and good music. Some people are content sitting on the beach and reading, some are fine laying out in the sun, but others need something to keep them occupied. Whether it be looking for shells or playing beach volleyball, that person just can't stay still. For most, they need to listen to music on the beach. But not just any kind of music, the kind of music that's meant to be played at the beach. I swear these songs sound ten times better on the beach than playing in the car. Here are fifteen songs to complete the ultimate summer playlist for the perfect beach day:

1. "Toes" - Zac Brown Band.

"I got my toes in the water/ass in the sand/not a worry in the world/a cold beer in my hand. Life is good today/life is good today."

2. "Some Beach" - Blake Shelton.

"Palm trees are growing and warm breezes blowing/I picture myself right there, on some beach/somewhere."

3. "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems" - Kenny Chesney.

"The sun and the sand/and a drink in my hand/with no bottom and no shoes, no shirt, and no problems."

4. "Water" - Brad Paisley.

"All you really need this time of year/is a pair of shades and ice cold beer/and a place to sit somewhere/near water."

5. "Somewhere on a Beach" - Dierks Bentley.

"On a beach towel with my shades on/my drink's up and the sun's out/I'm somewhere on a beach."

6. "Margaritaville" - Jimmy Buffet.

"Wasted away again in Margaritaville/searchin' for my lost shaker of salt."

7. "Beachin'"- Jake Owen.

"And it's sunshine/blue eyes/tan lines/slow tide/rollin' white sand/cold can koozie in my hand/just a summertime strolling/chillin'/breezin'/sippin'/singin'/beachin'."

8. "Pontoon" - Little Big Town.

"On the pontoon/makin' waves and catchin' rays up on the roof/
jumpin' out the back/don't act like you don't want to party in slow motion."

9. "Summer Nights" - Rascal Flatts.

"It’s a party down in Padre/big bonfire on the beach/it’s Coronas in Daytona y’all/ where it’s wild and it’s free."

10. "Knee Deep" - Zac Brown Band.

"Sunrise, there's a fire in the sky/never been so happy, never felt so high/and I think I might have found me my own kind of paradise."

11. "When the Sun Goes Down" - Kenny Chesney & Uncle Kracker.

"When the sun sinks down over the water/everything gets hotter when the sun goes down."

12. "All Summer Long" - Kid Rock.

"Sipping whiskey out the bottle/not thinking 'bout tomorrow/singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long."

13. "Long Hot Summer" - Keith Urban.

"It’s gonna be a long, hot summer/we should be together, with your feet up on the dashboard now/singing along with the radio, it’s such a beautiful sound."

14. "Island in the Sun" - Weezer.

"On an island in the sun/we'll be playing and having fun/and it makes me feel so fine I can't control my brain."

15. "Get Your Shine On" - Florida Georgia Line.

"Summer sky dripping rhinestones/turn your party lights on/baby get your shine on."

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
