The Top 5 Reasons Pope Francis Is My Favorite Person

By now, you probably know who Pope Francis is, but if you don't know him, here are some basic facts to start us off. Pope Francis is the 266th pope, he is 78 years old, hails from Argentina, and is, without a doubt, the best Pope the world has seen to date.

Here's just a few of the reasons Pope Francis is one of my favorite people ever.

1. He knows eight different languages!

That's seven more than I'll ever know! He knows how to speak Spanish, Latin, and Italian. But he also understands English, French, German, Ukrainian, and Portuguese!

2. He made a Trip to The U.S.

If you didn't hear all the buzz about Pope Francis coming to America, then you were probably hiding under a rock all weekend. But it's true! He was here, and it was a BIG deal! People from all over the country traveled to see him in Washington D.C.

3. He is super humble!

He chose his papal name due to the humility associated with St. Francis of Assisi, and he really lives up to his reputation. When he was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, he lived in a simple apartment with few luxuries and either rode the bus or walked around town. When he was elected as the Pope, he flew to Rome in the economy class.

4. He's basically done it all.

Before he became a Jesuit, Pope Francis worked as a bouncer in a Buenos Aries club and bar to help pay for school. I mean, it doesn't get any cooler than that.

5. He has a Twitter!

We need someone to remind us to go to mass and pray from time to time! I think that any Pope with a twitter account wins the "coolest pope" award, hands down. In 2013, Time Magazine named him Person of the Year," a prestigious title given to the one who “has done the most to influence the events of the year."

Here's my favorite tweet from him:

I don't know about you, but Pope Francis is definitely one of my favorite people. He is the perfect example of the kind of person we should strive to be; dedicated to our faith and living our lives to the fullest.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
