The Top 3 Theories For 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'

The newest Star Wars movie is coming out in a few months, and I am stoked. I've loved Star Wars my entire life and when they announced this new run of movies, I was skeptical that they could come out as well as the originals. But, I loved both Force Awakens and Rogue One. My friends and I have been discussing what possible plot twists they could come up with next. While I could go into plenty of detail, I'll try to keep it as short and condensed as possible. These are just three of the best possible theories for The Last Jedi.

1. Rey's parents had to be Jedi.

Most people think that Rey's dad has to be Luke, or that she's somehow related to Obi-Wan. Because she is force sensitive, her lineage has to connect to a main Jedi family somewhere, whether it'd be Skywalker or Kenobi. If it is Luke, who is the mother? Midichrolries, again? Rey does specifically mention parents (plural) so we are safe to assume she has both a mother and a father. But the Jedi code strictly forbids marriage and sex, so Luke couldn't possibly have broken it . . .a main Jedi family somewhere, whether it'd be Skywalker or Kenobi. If it is Luke, who is the mother? . . . or could he?

2. Luke is a Grey Jedi.

Grey Jedi are a part of the extended Star Wars universe, though still considered canon -- it means that the Jedi has a mix of Old Republic Jedi code and Sith force usage. This Jedi can access both the light and dark side of the Force; because this type of Jedi doesn't strictly follow Jedi or Sith code, he can get married and procreate without issue. Qui-Gon Jinn, who appears in The Phantom Menace, was also thought to be a Grey Jedi, though it has never been officially confirmed. Since Luke has been in hiding for so long after Kylo Ren destroyed his new posse of Jedi, he could have learned from numerous force ghosts, including his father and Yoda. He would have learned how to access the dark side of the force without becoming completely consumed by it as Anakin and Kylo Ren did. However, Anakin/Darth Vader shows us that someone who has turned from the dark side can be fully redeemed and turn back to the light. Which leads me to the next theory . . .

3. Kylo Ren turns to the light.

While I don't personally want this to happen, it is completely possible. I love Kylo Ren. I love his story, how he grew up with probably the most dysfunctional parents ever (sorry but I can't really envision any child growing up with Chewbacca and Han in the same house to be sane), and how he longed for something different in his life. I wonder if Leia and Luke told him of Vader turning to the light before he died, how he sacrificed himself for Luke instead of allowing Palpatine to continue his ugly reign of terror. If they did, Ben Solo had to completely disregard his grandfather's regrets and only go after the lures of the dark side that so quickly turn into pain. The pain of killing his own father could be enough for him to seek out of Snoke's influence, and back to the light.

Obviously, there are tons more theories I could go into, like, who is Snoke? Where does Finn fit into this? Is Poe going to get together with Finn? So many questions, so much more time to wait. The Last Jedi is in theatres December 15th, hopefully we will get some answers then.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
