2010 - California Gurls by Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg
One of the most popular songs from 2010 had you wishing you were a California Girl or being proud you were one. I absolutely loved jamming out to this one in the car and the music video made me laugh. If you're looking to look back at the beginning of this decade, definitely play this song on repeat here.
2011 - Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO
This song was such a hit at my middle school. Everyone was doing the "Party Rock Shuffle" up and down the halls. I was also playing the video on repeat to learn all of the moves. LMFAO also had "Sexy And I Know It" out that year and were a hit everywhere. My 10-year-old self, along with my best friend, wanted to do that song for the talent show and were turned down the chance to do it sadly. Give it a listen here.
2012 - Payphone by Maroon 5 ft. Wiz Khalifa
When this song came out I never stopped listening to it. Maroon 5 is one of my favorite artists so I may be a bit biased. Adam Levine brings an action packed, movie-like music video to your screen and shows just what he will do for the girl he likes. Bring this smashing hit back into your life here.
2013 - Get Lucky by Daft Punk
When this song came out it led fans to further wonder "who is under the masks?" In fact, they hid their faces so well that even in their documentary, "Daft Punk Unchained", they hid their faces under bags and put their backs toward the camera. Give this song a listen to bring back your amazement in this electronic duo. You can listen to this song here.
2014 - All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor
When Meghan Trainor came out with this hit she led body positivity for everyone. I love this song, give it a listen not only for some 2014 nostalgia, but also when you might be feeling a little insecure about yourself. You can watch it here.
2015 - Stitches
Your favorite teen heartthrob came out with this song as his first big hit. If you listened to his first songs on Vine (RIP) then you were excited to hear his song on the radio. Now that he is a big hit with more songs out and sold-out tours, make sure you go back to his first radio hit that you can listen to here.
2016 - Work by Rihanna ft. Drake
If you love Rihanna then you certainly loved this song. Even though most of us couldn't understand the lyrics we still loved to play this on repeat. Every dance, car ride, and party had this song on. Bring back the energy that Rihanna and Drake gave us by listening to this 2016 hit here.
2017 - Despacito by Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee
This song was also played on repeat. Whether you knew Spanish or not you listened to this multiple times. They then made the hit even bigger by bringing Justin Bieber into the track. Bring this song back into your heart, house, and car by clicking here.
2018 - thank u, next by Ariana Grande
Everyone was obsessed with this song when it came out, including me. Not only was the song iconic, but the infamous music video that went along with it had fans of Mean Girls, Bring It On, Legally Blonde, and 13 Going on 30 excited. She also brought back her famous friends like Kris Jenner, Legally Blonde's Jennifer Coolidge, Mean Girls heartthrob Jonathan Bennett, and her Victorious co-stars Elizabeth Gillies, Matt Bennett, and Daniella Monet. You can watch her music video here.
2019 - Old Town Road by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus
Everyone knows about this song. I love this because you can look it up and see people of all ages enjoying it. I chose the one with Billy Ray Cyrus because he brought another fun verse I didn't know he could do. Make sure you give it a listen if you haven't heard it already. Here is his official music video with a surprise cameo from Chris Rock.
Now go dance and sing your hearts out!
