To the daughter that I may have in the future,

I have no intention of having kids anytime soon but sometimes I sit and wonder what you'll look like, me or the man that will be your father. Either way, I can imagine how beautiful you will be. The thought of having a little version of me running around our home is so amazing. I wonder what you'll want to be and what you will accomplish. Will you want to be a writer like me? I can't begin to imagine the creativity you will have or how smart you will be. There's so much I will teach you as you grow up to be an amazing woman.

I will teach you to love yourself because you are worth so much.

I will teach you to be strong because there will be a day where people are going to try to ruin you.

I will teach you to love Jesus just like my mom taught me.

I will teach you to have a kind heart and always help others.

I will teach you to never be ashamed of who you are.

I will teach you to do whatever makes you the happiest in life because that's all I want is for you to be happy.

I will teach you to never chase after any man because no one will ever deserve you.

I will teach you all the great Disney movies songs.

I will teach you to love The Legend of Zelda as much as I do.

I pray by the time you're ready to come the world isn't how it is now. I hope our society is more accepting and won't push you away for the color of your skin. I hope you are shown the respect as a woman you deserve. I want you to know there is a lot of things in the world that will be out to hurt you and I promise that I will protect you with everything that I have.

I love you already.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
