When your pen hits the paper or your fingers hit the keyboard, all thoughts of creative ideas that were transforming in your head somehow have dispersed, as you are left with a blank screen, a blank page.
Your pen anxiously taps the paper as it leaves drips of ink spotted all around in one spot. Your hands anxiously type away as you are left with words and sentences that don't make any sense, and you are left hearing the tapping of your right pointer finger hitting the key board pressing the backspace key repulsively. Seconds pass, minutes pass, and before you know it the Netflix show you had on in the background is already loading the next episode.
If you are a coffee drinker, you're onto your next cup of coffee hoping the caffeine will fuel your brain to work a little hard and help your thoughts lay out on the page more quickly. Writing is so tough to do sometimes. You have everything ready, a computer, or a notebook and pen, yourself, but no thoughts are flowing smoothly.
Today is one of those nights. One of those moments in a day where you put your comfy clothes on, light your favorite Yankee Candle (mine being "Soft Blanket"), put some cool lamps on to set the cozy writing mood, and everything is perfect until the second you begin to lay your thoughts out. Everything leaves your mind like the smoke of a candle drifting away from its wick. Ironic I didn't say "like the snap of your fingers"; your thoughts leave slowly. You think of a subject, start writing, and then don't even know where you were going with it or what to say.
