Shopping is supposed to be a fun activity that you do with your friends or by yourself when you need a particular article of clothing or just feel like looking around. Though it's especially difficult for us big girls to shop sometimes. I am here to relay some of the struggles of shopping as a bigger girl.
There not being sizes big enough or the biggest size looks make me look like I'm wearing a bed sheet, is one of the greatest problems there is when it comes to shopping. The absolute worst is finding a shirt that says it's a large but in actuality looks and fits like a small.
Another problem when shopping is there not being any clothes in the store at all that fit me and I have to settle with looking at handbags and sunglasses. I in fact am not interested in the bright purple handbag that costs too much and is way too ugly for my tastes. I just can't fit in the "fits like a medium jacket" I saw sitting on the clothes rack labeled large.
The most lovely thing in the world is the pushy salesperson that I can feel judging me from behind the counter. Yes, I know I won't fit in half of these clothes, but that doesn't stop me from trying them on. Who knows, I might surprise myself.
In the end it doesn't really matter that I have these problems, I still enjoy shopping and I still don't care what people think about how I look. The only person's opinion that I care about is my own. I eventually manage to find clothes that fit me somewhat, but who really has clothes that fit perfectly anyway?
Just live your lives ladies, you try on those clothes and try not to care what other people think, even though it can be difficult a lot of time. You deserve to be happy and comfortable in your own skin.
