The Stress Of Finals Week

As told by Michael Scott

The worst week of the school year is right around the corner: finals week. It's the week we have to get through to finally unlock each of our summer vacations. As we dread finals week, there is nothing we can do but stress about how much there is still to do before the year is over, and how little time we have left. All I can say is, all the coffee places on college campus's better be ready for us as we buy them out these next couple weeks to help us pull off our all-nighters preparing for our exams.

Here's a few feelings we all experience when it comes to finals week:

When your professor is still giving out assignments that are due before finals week.

We have all had professors like these, and we are not the biggest fans of them at all. Do they not realize that we are taking more than just their class?

When you realize you will have no time to finish the rest of your assignments before finals week.

The professors that keep throwing assignments at us are crazy. It only adds to our stress before finals week because not only do we have to start studying for finals, we have to still turn in regular class assignments. It is insane.

When you find out you have a final in a class you didn't think you had a final for.

You thought you might only have three finals and now you realize you have four. The class that you swear said they didn't have a final in all of a sudden has one. Unfortunately for you, you now have to take more time out of your schedule to arrange accordingly and study for this class.

When you find out your final exam is cumulative.

Cumulative. The word we fear the most when it comes to exams. This means we have to dig out all of our notes from the beginning of the semester until now to study for the final. How fun. I can barely remember what we learned last week.

When you have one final exam the first day of finals week and then another one the very last day of finals week.

Don't you just love when this happens? Why can't my finals be back to back to back so I can just get them over with? Of course, there is always that one exam that is the last day of finals week that keeps you at school anxiously awaiting summer vacation.

When there is no study guide for the final exam.

This is every college student's worst nightmare. Especially when you can't find anything on Koofers, Quizlet, or StudyBlue.. you know your final is going to give you a run for your money.. literally.

When you calculate your grades to find out what you need to get on the final exam to get your wanted grade in the class.

And when you calculate that grade, the score you need on your final to get the grade you want in a certain class is always a lot higher than what you can actually score. To 4.0 I need a 163%? No problem. Better get to studying.
