Ah. You know that feeling you have when you look at your photos after a big event and you start thinking, wow this would be perfect to post on Instagram. But have you actually thought about everything that you go through to post that perfect picture on Instagram? I assume not. It actually takes a lot of work to make sure you can get the most amount of likes possible, and I bet you go through these very similar stages when you want to post a picture on Instagram.
1.You scroll through all the options.
You find one that you like, but you do not say it out loud yet.
2. You ask your friends for their advice.
Your friends give you their advice and thoughts on which one they like. You either respond with, “Oh my gosh! That is what I was thinking,” if it’s the one you had in mind, or, “Oh yeah… I don’t know. I have to think about it” if it's not the one you had in mind.
3. After looking through all the options you finally pick the perfect one.
4. Then comes the editing aspect. You upload your picture to Instagram, and you have to pick the crop.
Should it be a close up, or a full body shot? I don’t know!! LMK.
5. You go through every single filter.
Clarendon, Mayfair, Rise, X-Pro II, or Lo-FI? Ugh, so many options.
6. You again ask your friends for their advice and take their advice with a grain of salt if they do not say the one you already had in mind.
7. You apply the filter that you think makes the picture look bomb, and you are about to press next when you remember all the other aspects of the photo you can adjust now.
Brightness, shadows, highlights, contrast, etc. What to do, what to do...
8. You make a few adjustments, but ultimately return to the filter you had in mind at first.
Oh my gosh! You are so close to being done. I can feel the first like.
9. You press next, and then you remember the hardest part: the caption.
10. You think of about 10, choose one, and then run it past your friends.
This is actually the time where you really care about their opinion because most of the time they are more witty or punny than you.
11. Your friends give you their advice on what caption to use, and you debate for anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes on which one to use.
If you cannot think of the perfect one, you give up and decide the picture was not meant to be seen by the instaworld.
12. But if you are lucky enough, you have the perfect caption crafted.
You write it out and are just beaming with pride.
13. You press post.
14. You sit and watch the likes come in.
I hope you all get some awesome photos to post, and maybe you will even think about the stages you actually go through next time.
