While long distance is completely doable, it can get hard, especially when you have gone 13 weeks without seeing each other.
Before college began, I saw my boyfriend just about every single day since we were 12 years old, both in and out of school. So even if this isn't the first year you're separated, withdrawal is a very real thing, especially when this is the longest you have gone without seeing each other. And with each week comes a different set of emotions.
Week 1: Tears
The worst part of the summer is the last day when you have to say goodbye, especially when you know you'll be 1,000 miles away for a few weeks.
Week Two to Week Five: Settling into college
Syllabus week is over and the stress has begun. All you can look forward to is the free time the both of you (maybe) have right before bedtime to text.
Week 6: Realizing you still have 7 weeks before you see each other
There is nothing worse than getting excited that 6 weeks went by so fast, then realizing you still have 7 weeks to go.
Week Seven to Week Ten: The "Miss You" Phase
It's been weeks, rations are low. All you can do is imagine what it will be like when you finally see each other after so long.
Week 11 to Week 12: Impatience
The countdown has begun and we are impatient. Thanksgiving break needs to happen right now.
The Final Stretch: Excitement
Lots of food for Thanksgiving and your partner comes home so it's a win-win for everyone.
