Attention anyone who loves documentaries,

Here is my list of the best 6 documentaries to watch on Netflix:

1. "Brothers In War"

This documentary chronicles the the experiences of Charlie Company, the last U.S. platoon sent to Vietnam using home movies, audio tapes, letters, and actual footage from the company's time overseas. If you're not a war documentary person, I still recommend this to you, as Vietnam is one of, if not the, most controversial wars in American history and the men and woman that served are some of the most vilified veterans. This documentary is told from the perspective of some of those men and while it doesn't prove that we should have been in Vietnam, it does prove that the ordinary young men that were there suffered, fought, and died in unimaginable situations.

Rating: 8/10

2. "Paris Is Burning"

This documentary tells of the stories and struggles of the 1980s Harlem drag balls. Following several drag queens in the early 1980s, Paris Is Burning highlights the somewhat hidden world of the drag ball circuit, the people that participated, what drag means, and the world Madonna appropriated to make her famous "Vogue" music video.

Rating: 7/10

3. "And the Oscar Goes To..."

For my fellow film buffs out there, this documentary traces the history of the Academy Awards. Featuring old clips, famous speeches, interviews, and pinnacle moments, this is by far one of my favorite documentaries. To see the history of the most famous award show in the world is to see how Hollywood, and the meaning of Hollywood, has changed over the years. And to see the differences in what wins and what doesn't through time is incredible.

Rating: 9/10 (because 10/10 would prove my bias for film-related things)

4. "The Propaganda Game"

This documentary features first-hand footage of life inside present-day North Korea, which makes it nearly one of a kind. It documents the life of the people inside the country the western world knows so little about while giving a history of the country as well.

Rating: 8/10

5. "Chelsea Does..."

This Netflix Original Docu-series follows Chelsea Handler, doing things. It sounds pretty straight forward, and it is. Watch Chelsea "confront her personal and cultural hang-ups" while taking part in experiences some will never have. From getting married in Vegas to confronting America's staunch history of racism to smoking with Willie Nelson, Chelsea Does... is a trip (no pun intended).

Rating: 6/10

6. "Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer"

This documentary goes inside the life, mind, trial, and death of Aileen Wuornos, the infamous female serial killer of the late 80s and early 90s. Wuornos, an abused child turned runaway turned prostitute turned serial killer, is one of the most interesting and most studied serial killers in American history, partially because she was female. This documentary asks "are monsters made or born," an age-old question in regards to serial killers and other criminals of the like.

Rating: 7/10

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
