1. “Life isn’t always fair, but learn how to accept things we cannot change, and change the things we cannot accept.”

Don’t stand for anything that goes against your morals, but make sure to learn how to live with the things that we can’t change in this life.

2. “There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel — if you can’t see it, adjust your mirror.”

Sometimes, you have to take a step back and reassess a situation before it starts to make sense. Sometimes, situations seem dark and negative until you look at them from another angle.

3. “It’s okay to be angry, it’s never okay to be cruel.”

People, situations, things can make us mad and we will feel like we have no control over these things. You’re allowed to sit there and admit that you’re angry, but never be so cruel to hurt someone’s feelings because you’re feelings were hurt.

4. “If you can’t change your mind, you aren’t using it.”

The point of living life is to experience things. With experiences comes things that may change your outlook on life or your opinion on a situation. This is normal, nobody has to remain completely stagnant in their beliefs so much so that they can’t change their mind after a good argument is made.

5. “Give it to God, and go to sleep.”

Don’t spend time lying awake at night because you’re so stressed and upset over things that are happening in your life. God has a plan for us all, and it’s all in his hands. Give your concerns to God, and go to sleep.

6. “If another can easily anger you, it is because you are off balance with yourself.”

Most of the time, it’s easy to keep a level head. Sometimes, though, you’ll find your buttons are being pushed and you can’t keep a peaceful mind. When this happens, it’s important for you to stop and breathe because it’s meant to show you that you’re not in the right mental place. Check your emotions, check the place your head is, and walk away from the situation before you possibly upset someone else.

7. “No matter where you are in life, celebrate it. It’s either a product of your growth or a place that will help you to grow.”

We all have positive experiences in life, and also some really negative ones. These experiences shape us into the individuals we grow to be. Never berate yourself for where you’re currently standing — it took a lot of work to get there, and your journey isn’t done yet.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
