SpongeBob is one of the few cartoons that are still a hit to '90s babies. On a lazy weekend morning or a homework filled Wednesday, you can turn on Nickelodeon and watch a cartoon sea sponge and the people of Bikini Bottom live out crazy shenanigans while living under the sea. SpongeBob was me and my cousins' favorite cartoon growing up — I can remember huge parties at my Mommom's house where the adults were on the porch or in the basement and us 4 oldest grandchildren watched old and new episodes for hours, only to wake up and watch more.
I have decided to honor SpongeBob by sharing some of the emotions all college students feel in the second half of the semester with some of our favorite yellow sponge and his pals most relatable moments.
1. When you forget that you have a paper due tomorrow that is worth 25% of your grade so you have to get out of bed and spend the next 6 hours writing it.
2. When you have been studying the same material for the past 7 hours straight and you finally understand the first 3 bullet points on slide 1.
3. When you have been studying for 7 hours straight and you still don't understand any of the material.
4. When you have an exam that you studied hours for and the first question wasn't on the study guide.
5. When you consider dropping out and moving away but you spent all of your money on a college education.
6. When you get your midterm grades back and then remember your final is cumulative.
7. When you have been awake for 3 days straight and you start hallucinating about what your life would have been like without $40,000 worth of debt.
8.When you leave your last final knowing that you won't have to wake up for your 8 a.m. for a little while thanks to break.
I believe in you! I also hope that they keep making episodes of SpongeBob because I don't know if I will be able to raise kids without making SpongeBob jokes!
