The Return of Fitzmagic?

Is this a return to form for the veteran quarterback?

The Return of Fitzmagic?

On Sunday, November 29th, Ryan Fitzpatrick started at quarterback for the first time since Week 6, ironically also against the New York Jets. This was due to Tua Tagovailoa sustaining a thumb injury which prevented him from playing.

Ryan Fitzpatrick played solid football last Sunday against the New York Jets. He threw for 257 yards with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. He was also able to rush for 10 yards during a crucial play late in the game.

Fitzpatrick is 38 years old, but still plays better than a lot of quarterbacks in the National Football League. He has a better quarterback rating than premiere quarterbacks like Carson Wentz and Cam Newton.

Ryan Fitpatrick has an amazing connection with the Dolphins offense and the locker room as a whole. Tua Tagovailoa is of course the quarterback with the highest potential and ceiling. However, Tua still has not developed a connection with the team as a whole. There were times, even in the games he won, where he seemed hesitant and allowed himself to get sacked, which proved to be a detriment to the team.

In contrast, Ryan Fitpatrick is completely accustomed to the pace of the offense and does not hesitate to throw those high risk shots to his receivers. This is probably best seen in his throws to Devante Parker. Last season, the primary reason Devante Parker was able to finally become a 1000 yard receiver was due to the guts and grit of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the pocket.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has the ability to inspire the team and make any person he targets better, whether it be wide receiver Devante Parker or tight end Mike Gesicki. Fitzpatrick has that "magic" which helps to will the Miami Dolphins to a win, especially when him and they are seen as underdogs.

Fitzpatrick is slated to continue to start next week against the Bengals. Hopefully he can continue his "magic" and prove just how much of a solid quarterback he still is.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
