So we meet again, old friend.

Ah, syllabus week. Easily the best (and sometimes worst) week of every college student everywhere. Not only is it one of the easiest weeks because you really only have to show up and say your name and a fun fact about yourself, but it can also be one of the most overwhelming. Papers are getting thrown at you left and right. Deadlines, exams, projects... looking at it all at once can make even the most emotionally stable college student cry. So, welcome to syllabus week my friends, and don't forget to breathe.

1. A few days before the start of classes...

The excitement is finally starting to settle in! And the acceptance of going back to campus and saying goodbye to summer is getting a bit easier. You're eager to get back on campus and see everyone and kick this semester's a**!

2. Day One...

You had a class or two, and you're still feeling great. You're motivated, you're organized. This is going to be your semester!

3. Day Two...

You're still feeling pretty stable. You're feeling capable of handling the workload. You're still feeling good about the semester, and your motivation hasn't run out just yet. You're still relaxed.

4. Day Three...

Is it socially acceptable to wear sweats yet?

5. Day Four...

Deadlines are overwhelming. You've most likely been to each of your classes at least once by now, and you're ready to crawl into a hole and die instead of drowning in all of your textbook debt.

6. Day Five...

Ah, the end of syllabus week. AKA, time for all the stress, deadlines, and anxiety to start kicking in. BUT, good thing is, now you have a few days off. So go get a bottle of wine and nap. You made it through week one... you deserve it.

BUT, I know for a fact you're going to kick this semester's bootay, and even though it may completely and absolutely suck... you're just getting that much closer to graduation. So don't get discouraged, and keep pushing. "You're fineeeeee!"

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
