Why Real Camping -- Not Glamping -- Is Good For The Soul

Nothing like enjoying the great outdoors with the views of over looking the mountains, the smell of smoke from a fire burning, and enjoying the good company of friends.

For those of you who have been camping its always a fun time right? For those of you that haven't been camping it's an experience that you must have. Who doesn't love getting to just enjoy whats around you with no cell phone coverage and actually talking to people instead of texting.

My friends and I went camping at virgin falls which is north of Nashville, TN and it was one of the many experiences I've had. I've never been actual camping before so it was fun getting to. We hiked ten miles total there and back within the two days we camped. While hiking to the camp site I experienced the water filtering from a bag and having to get the water from the river. Also, cooking over the fire and setting up for camp.

The scenery of the waterfalls were breath taking and we had so much fun singing, laughing, joking, and taking mother nature all in at once! Definitely recommend going if you have all of the proper equipment for camping. We didn't do the camping with the RV, we did it with hammocks and setting them up wasn't easy. I had a difficult time because I'm short. Everyone helped each other out which was nice. Not being on the phone with service was probably the hardest for me, I won't lie.

Also, make sure you bring bug spray, multiple clothes to change into, and good walking shoes because you just never know what will happen. After setting up camp we all went exploring and hiked some more. Just be prepared to not be able to take a shower for a few days, depending how long you go for.

Once dinner time rolled around the guys set up the fire for cooking which was a whole other experience for me because we had to make our fire naturally (which makes sense). The guys got it going and started cooking and we talked around the fire, told stories, ate, and laughed. The one thing we forgot were SMORE'S! Yes, I know how can one go camping and forget smore's?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
