What are you going to do? AS IN: What are you going to be? WHO ARE YOU?
Why is this the only conversation people know how to have now?
I understand it is a good topic, but I have told you I don't know for the last time. It gives me a bucketful of worry and I start to doubt myself when people ask me this question. Why should I be certain of this? Is anyone?
If I knew exactly what I was going to do with my life, then there would be no point in living it. Life is about the journey; the in-between moments. It is the middle!
Who wants to read a book with a beginning and end, without a middle?
It is just exhausting to have to justify the fact that I am not sure. If someone is this sure, then please, TELL ME YOUR WAYS.
I respect adults who say to me, "It's okay that you don't know what you want to do. Heck, I don't even know what I want to do."
This suggests to me two things:
- They understand
- There is hope for me and them
If adults are still hoping, that means that dreams and goals are continuous no matter how many you achieve. It is only human. It is natural to progress and desire more.
Majority of people do not know what they want to do even after they graduate and this should be okay! Obviously, you have to put yourself out there because opportunities do not come knocking on your door (most of the time), and you have to go out there and find whatever is perfect for you.
But, if I haven't been "out there," then why am I expected to know what I want?
So shout to the world: I DON'T KNOW!
And the end of the conversation.
