The Pros And Cons Of Long Distance Friendships

Even if a friend only lives a house hours away from you, sometimes it feels like they're half the world away. But there's gotta be an upside... right?

Pro: A great excuse to travel a little

"No mom, I do not want to go to LA just to site see."

Con: No spontaneous movie nights. Seeing each other requires weeks of planning.

Does it count as a movie night if we Skype and hit play on the DVD at the same time?

Pro: Time zones can really work to your advantage

Sure, it might be 2 AM on the East Coast, but it's only 11 PM on the West Coast, so you can call your friend about your drama without waking them up.

Con: Time zones can suck

It's only 11 PM on the West Coast, so your friend is trying to call you at 2 AM your time.

Pro: You can get unbiased advice because your friend doesn't know who you're talking about

"Okay, so I like this guy..."

Con: You really want your friend to meet your squad

"You have to meet Emily when you visit next time, you'd love her."

The good news is you're only ever a phone call away. And when the two of you reunite, the world better watch out.
