An Open Letter To My Person,

“You are my person. You will always be my person.”

Let me start off by saying, I appreciate you. I appreciate you for everything that you have done for me. Words can't even express how grateful I truly am to have you in my life.

Coming to a new school wasn’t something I was looking forward too. Not only was I going to be the new kid, I was also going to be the new freshman. Scary, right? But I knew that God had a plan and that plan started with me keeping my head up and staying positive. Little did I know; his plan also included you. We met the very first day of our freshman year and how ironic was it when I found out it was a new chapter in your life too. Right off the bat, you and I clicked. The first day of school required lectures in the PAH. You’re probably thinking what is a PAH, right? It’s our school’s Performing Arts Hall a.k.a the lecture hall. You and I worked together to navigate our way through the maze of a new world and somehow we made it just fine. Our friendship only continued to grow from there. Throughout the next four years, I started to learn that you were definitely my person.

You are the Cristina Yang to my Meredith Grey. And here’s fifteen reasons why:

  1. We can cry on each other’s shoulders.
  2. We fight, but at the end of the day, we are still there for each other.
  3. I can go to you for anything and everything.
  4. We may not always agree with each other's choices, but we never judge.
  5. “I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I’M FEELING 22!”
  6. Back to number 5; you know exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t deny it.
  7. We can make fun of each other all we want, but we never take offense.
  8. If I need to call you at 3am, I know you will answer. Well maybe.
  9. You know how to cheer me up when I am feeling down.
  10. You bring out my crazy side.
  11. I can tell you my deepest secrets and you can tell me yours.
  12. DANCE PARTIES!
  13. You have seen my worst side, yet somehow you still put up with me.
  14. You seem to know what’s best for me, more than I know myself.
  15. The distance between doesn’t break our friendship; it only makes it stronger.

You and I have been through so much, but we always have each other's back. You are my person and I am your person. You are my Cristina Yang. As Meredith Grey once said, “We’re friends. Real friends. And that means, no matter how long it takes when you finally decide to look back, I’ll still be here.” No matter how many times we disagree or how far the distance, you and I will always be right there at the end of the day when things are all said and done. That is a real friendship.

Sincerely,

Your Person a.k.a your Meredith Grey.

gossip girl

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

The Perks of Being a Girl

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

As frustrating and annoying as it can be, being a girl is really awesome. We are beautiful inside and out. Not a lot of people may see that, but girls have a ton of amazing qualities.

We have unique flirting skills.

Us girls have a significant way to flirt with other people. Even when we say the most random or awkward things, we have a way of making everything sound cute and planned. It’s just a gift; we’re good like that.

Us college students know all about the struggle of spending the day in the library. Whether you are writing a ten-page paper, studying for a biology exam, or struggling through math homework, you somehow find the strength to get to the library to get it all done. Let's just say you have a lot of different thoughts that run through your head during the many hours you spend in the lovely library.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
