The Nintendo Switch is possibly one of Nintendo's most successful consoles. It stands as the most innovative Console of this generation and continues to be swept of store shelves as soon as the store receives a shipment. However, with all the great success the Nintendo Switch also has a handful of flaws that are truly holding the system back. These flaws are beginning to make people a little curious as to how the Nintendo Switch will be ranked once this generation is all said and done.
Will it be the console that put Nintendo back on top or will it be an overhyped flop?
As stated before, stores are having a lot of trouble keeping Nintendo Switch consoles in stock. Unfortunately, this possibly the biggest flaw surrounding the Nintendo Switch as a lot of Nintendo fans are beginning to become frustrated at the fact that they still cannot purchase a Nintendo Switch. While the high demand of the Nintendo Switch is one of the main reasons for the shortage of Nintendo Switch consoles, the biggest factor playing a role in the Nintendo Switch shortage is a shortage of parts used to assemble Nintendo Switch consoles. The shortage in parts is due to the fact that Apple is using the same product and Apple seems to be buying a majority of parts only leaving Nintendo just enough to barely produce a passable amount of Nintendo Switch consoles.
Another huge flaw that will alter how the Nintendo Switch is perceived in gaming history is how Nintendo chose to take in-game voice. chat for the Nintendo Switch. Unlike the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One that uses the controller to transfer in-game voice chat, the Nintendo Switch will need to connect to your smartphone using a Nintendo Switch mobile app. It isn't bad enough that you are going to be forced to rely on the battery of your smartphone to chat with your friends while playing games but you will need to plug in mess cords that connect your headphones to your smartphone and Nintendo Switch. Seeing that products with a slim and clean design are in high demand, a lot of Nintendo fans are confused as to why Nintendo chose this solution to handle in-game voice chat.
The biggest flaw that may hold the Nintendo Switch from becoming a historic console for Nintendo is the fact that the hardware powering the Nintendo Switch doesn't seem to be nearly strong enough to handle a lot of the cross-platform games on today's market. As a result, a lot of gaming developers are either having a difficult time making their games run on the Nintendo Switch hardware or Developers are avoiding developing games for the Nintendo Switch completely. Seeing that gaining third party games on their consoles have been a major concern for Nintendo since the Wii, it is hard to see why Nintendo didn't produce a Console that would attract more third party developers.
During the 80's and 90's, Nintendo reigned king of the video game industry, Unfortunately, after the 90's there was a sharp decline in Nintendo's following as the competing consoles such as the Playstation began to surface. After the launch of the Playstation and Xbox, Nintendo found itself face to face with a lot of hardships. Nintendo took a noticeable hit when the Wii U launched and flopped and the Nintendo Switch was designed to put Nintendo back on top. It will be up to Nintendo to make the best of the many flaws the are holding the Nintendo Switch if it wants to see the Nintendo Switch dig Nintendo out of the hole the Wii U put it in.
