Spring is a time when many people decide to hole up in their bedrooms and binge shows on apps like Netflix or Hulu for hours on end. However, if you've truly been watching TV shows all spring, at this point, you've probably run out. Everyone continuously recommends the same shows on Netflix like Game of Thrones, Parks and Recreation, and 13 Reasons Why, but the best TV show is one most people have probably never heard of. Stitchers is one of the most underrated shows of all time and is a show you should certainly watch in the coming weeks.
Stitchers is a show that began airing on Freeform on June second, 2015, and instantly encapsulated viewers with its realism. Stitchers is what would be classified as Sci-fi, but at the speed that technology is progressing, it could very well become a reality. The show follows a college student named Kirsten Clark as she is recruited by a secret government agency to 'stitch' in the minds of people to solve crimes. Yeah, it's pretty intense. But the people she's 'stitching' into aren't alive, in fact, they are all very dead. The premise uses a mix of realistic technology, psychology, and old school crime fighting to create an incredible mystery. For those who like learning about cold cases like those shown in series like Making a Murderer or Buzzfeed Unsolved Stitchers would definitely be up your alley. Since this show is a mystery, it has so many different puzzles weaving throughout its episodes focussing on different characters, and the watchers are able to keep track of all the clues, and discover secrets at the same time (Or if you're observant, maybe ahead) of the characters. The way this series can immerse you in its world is insane.
But the plot isn't the only amazing thing about this show, it also has so many different characters that all take a major part in the show. There are so many characters who work in the facility who at first seem like side characters to be pushed aside, but end up having unique and fleshed out personalities. These characters spice up the show, and make it more interesting than most things you'd find on Netflix. And even if the plot of the story does sound cliche, these characters make it the opposite. They each contribute a piece to the story, making you really have to pay attention to every little detail. Something that really comes in handy when you're extremely bored and have nothing else to do.
Stitchers is so underrated, especially when it has such great character and an interesting storyline that will leave you on the edge of your seat. And though the series isn't finished yet, the first two seasons are up on Freeform's website for free, and the third season is currently shooting, set to release on June 5, 2017. Happy bingeing on this amazing, intense journey of a show!
