Visiting New York City is definitely on everybody's bucket list. The hardest part to every vacation is figuring out what you're going to do. If you're anything like my family, you sit and think about what you're going to do for 15 minutes, wasting precious time. Well I'm here to help you out and give you a great list of the the things you should definitely do while visiting NYC!
1. Broadway shows
Now I know some of you might hate musicals or completely despise them but LISTEN TO ME. Every single show I have seen has been amazing. I have yet to see one I don't like. Also, hint of advice, in times square there is a line you can wait in to get discounted tickets to Broadway shows for that night! The smaller shows are there, but they are just as good as the big ones!
2. Top of the Rock
"You're gonna make me climb up a rock" is what you're probably thinking. ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is at the Rockefeller building, where you can go up to the top of this building and see one of the, if not THE, best view of NYC. It is FLAWLESS here, definitely give it a try!
3. Statue of Liberty
I have never gone to the island and climbed up the statue, however, it's definitely on my list of things to do! It looks amazing from far away, and I'm sure it is an amazing view!
4. 9/11 Memorial Museum
Again, I know what you're thinking: "how depressing, I don't want to relive that awful day." Listen to me when I tell you how moving this place truly is. My family spent over 2 hours in this museum alone. It truly is life changing, and worth every penny.5. Central Park
Ah yes, another park that you can visit just like home! SIKE. This park is flawless. The only patch of grass you will find in the whole city! And the best part, SO. MANY. DOGS.
6. Grand Central
My family takes a train into Grand Central Station every time we come to the city. Without a doubt, walking into it never fails to take my breath away. You will feel like you are in 300 movies at the same time since so many scenes were shot there!7. DŌ
I'm sure this isn't a place you have heard of, but it's definitely worth the wait. DŌ is edible cookie dough in a cup or cone (basically heaven in a cup). It's on LaGuardia Pl, so it may be a little hike, but definitely worth it. P.S. only get one scoop, trust me it is plenty!
8. Brooklyn Bridge
Brooklyn Bridge is beyond beautiful and worth the long walk! However, don't be like my family and decide to walk across it on the hottest day of the year. If you do, you will only make it halfway and turn around...
9. Chinatown
Even though you may feel like you are breaking the law, Chinatown is a great place to visit! I bought a 'Prada' purse here (obviously not real) but it looked so real that when I used it all of my friends told me how real it looked! Sunglasses are a huge hit here too for a super cheap price. If you're a bargain shopper, which who isn't, you would love it here!
10. Little Italy
Little Italy has some of the best food and cutest Snapchat geo-filters (lol).
11. Staten Island Ferry
I have never explored Staten Island, but the Ferry ride you have to take to get there is beyond beautiful. The view of the city behind you calls for some great pictures!!!12. St. Patrick's Cathedral
Even if you aren't very religious, this Cathedral is GORGEOUS. I have visited this place 3 times and each time I go back I am just as amazed as the first time I visited.13. Empire State Building
A SUPER touristy location that for some reason I have never been in. Outside the building is beautiful though, and I'm sure the view is also beautiful. However, if you're torn between this and the Top of the Rock, I have heard that the Rockefeller has a better view than the Empire State Building. However don't take my word for it, and try them both!
14. Radio City Music Hall
I visited this during the Christmas season and watched the Rockettes (ALSO A GREAT SHOW) and fell in love. This place is beautiful and I wish I would have taken a tour of the whole hall!
15. Ellen's Stardust Diner
This restaurant off of Broadway makes you feel like you are inside Broadway shows! The waiters and waitresses sing popular Broadway hits during your meal. Every Musical lover's dream!
16.Times Square
Of course saving the best (and most touristy) for last! You will never find this place not jammed with people. Times square is my favorite place in the whole city, especially at night time
