The Monday Blues As Told By 'The Office'

If you are in school or employed, you have inevitably been a victim of the dreaded "Monday Blues" some time or another. You power through the week with your eye on the weekend, only to be slapped in the face time and time again by another Monday quickly approaching. Every Monday seems to bring its own trials and tribulations that simply can't be avoided. Here's to you, Monday, for your evil reign over the human race!

1. It's Sunday night, so you decide to binge-watch your favorite show to cope with the fact that tomorrow is Monday.

2. That faithful moment your alarm goes off and your heart sinks.

3. When all you want to do is enjoy a nice breakfast and start your day off right, but the universe says no.

4.That moment you realize all the work you forgot to do over the weekend.

5. When all your friends are wide awake and full of energy but you're still a zombie.

6. That moment when you check the time thinking it's almost lunch but it's only 10:30.

7. When someone decides to join you for lunch but all you really wanted was some peace and quiet.

8. When you finally check your phone after an hour and expect to see tons of messages but there is absolutely nothing.

9. Getting excited when your phone does finally go off, only to find an email from Bed Bath & Beyond with a coupon for new pillows.

10. When you swear it's almost time to go home but then realize you still have another two and a half hours to go.

11. Realizing your day has been way less productive than you anticipated and wishing you had just stayed at home.

12. When your boss or teacher is having a worse Monday than you and decides to take it out on everybody else.

13. When your friends keep begging you to hang out later but you know you've got a long week ahead of you.

14. Checking to see what time it is and realizing it is almost time to go home.

15. When you try to make a run for it but someone intercepts you on your way to the door and tries to start up a conversation.

16. When you finally get a taste of sweet freedom and can't contain your joy.

17. When you head home and decide to treat yourself to a nice dinner, but of course it all goes wrong.

18. When you decide to just lay down and take it easy because it has been a hard day.

19. When you make up your mind to go to bed early and the universe takes this as a cue to blow your phone up with messages.

20. When you can't sleep so you decide to watch TV and then have a miniature mental breakdown because your DVR didn't record that really cool interview you wanted to watch.

21. When you realize it may have been rough, but you conquered yet another Monday.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
