The Lord Will Not Delay

He brings us what we need when we need it the most.

Lately, I have found my life falling into perfect harmony in every way imaginable and I cannot help but think, ‘It is about time.’ I can not take credit for how beautiful life has been, even with its subtle troubles. I owe all I have and all that my life has become to my Father.

A few Sunday’s back, I picked up a church bulletin and the words drawn across the cover have stuck with me ever since: The Lord will not delay. Since I laid eyes on this simple sentence, I have felt lighter and more at ease. My life is not in my hands, but in His. God gives you what you need exactly when you need it.

He puts you through tough times because from those you see the most beauty. You cannot know true happiness until you have seen sadness and felt pain. Coming face-to-face with death after an appendectomy gone wrong has strengthened my faith and revealed to me the beauty of life. This occurred at a time in my life when, dare I say it, I needed it the most. I was becoming materialistic and saw God less and less in my day-to-day life. These types of struggles are challenges- will you turn to God for help or deny His love when you need it the most? TURN TO HIM. God brings you these bumps-in-the-road to bring you closer in your relationship with Him, especially when He sees you slipping away.

God is good. God brings love and joy, proof of His own love for each and every one of us. Nothing has brought me closer to God than through witnessing the love of other people. Specifically, I have grown tremendously in my relationship with God through my relationship with my boyfriend. It is quite an amazing thing to see God at work in another person. God brought me love when I needed it the most- not just for my personal growth, but for the growth of my relationship with the Lord.

Being patient is one of the hardest of virtues, in my opinion, but the wait proves to be worth it. God brings us what we NEED, not what we WANT. When something good or bad occurs, keep in mind that the Lord planned this for you and He knows what he is doing. His actions are blessed with reasons greater than we could ever even imagine.

The Lord will not delay. Trust in His plan and be patient. He will not delay.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
