Senior Year. In high school those words were filled with excitement, hope for the future, and wonder. It was your last year before the “best four years of your life.”
In college, those two simple words take on a slightly more impactful meaning. They mean a lot of “lasts.” They mean one more year of being in the same place with some of your best friends in the whole world. They mean one more year of not necessarily being completely responsible for yourself. They mean the last year of the “best four years".
For some, that is terrifying, for most, it’s bittersweet. Senior year also comes with a certain level of confidence. You know who you are. You know what you want and what you don’t. You may not be ready now to take that leap after graduation, but when the time comes, you know you can do it.
Senior year, to me, means making the most of every day. It means spending time with those who I care so much about. It means continuing to prepare myself for the “real world.” It means being able to handle the stress of grad school applications, studying for the GRE, applying for internships, and maintaining a full course-load. It means always being unapologetically myself.
Senior year is a time to let go. Be wild. Be smart. Make it extraordinary.
We have one last year seniors, make it count.
