The Last Jedi Trailer Reaction

SO MANY QUESTIONS!

This weeks previous Monday night football game was not about the football (what teams were playing again?). No, this past Monday was all about Star Wars, particularly the new and insane trailer they unveiled during halftime. If you were like me then you watched the game solely for that trailer. If you were also like me then you had quite a few interesting reactions to all the bombshells that were dropped and probably a ton more questions. Here are some of my top reactions and questions to the new The Last Jedi trailer.

1. The opening.

Snoke has this raspy terrifying voice that gives me chills every time I hear it. Having him voice over the beginning of the trailer immediately put me on edge and I knew this trailer was going to be intense. He talks about finding someone who has this raw power and we don't know if he's referencing Kylo Ren or Rey, since they appear much more connected than before.

2. Rey practicing her powers

We then move onto Rey who is being taught by Luke in the ways of the force. We see Rey and the full extent of her powers and how she's "always had something there" as in, she's always known the force has been a part of her. Luke says, "I've seen this raw strength once before, it didn't scare me enough then. It does now." AH! Who is Luke referencing? Is it Kylo? What does this mean for Rey and why are her powers so frightening to Luke? Like I said, so many questions!

3. Angry Kylo

Immediately after we see this angry Kylo Ren flying about the galaxy and he is obviously at war with himself. The trailer shows his finger on that trigger but does he actually kill Leia?! We all know that after Carrie Fisher's sudden passing something has to happen to her character in The Last Jedi. I just hope it's not by the hands of Kylo, he's killed his father, he's made enough psychotic decisions for now.

4. The cute fuzzy creature

He makes the cutest noise and is just too cute. I can't wait to see what he is and where he comes from!

5. Finn and Captain Phasma

I was always a little irked that Finn was holding the lightsaber in the movie poster since Rey is the true Jedi so I am so happy that Finn is fighting without one in this trailer. Finn is an ex storm trooper so it only makes sense that he'd fight Captain Phasma, and I think that it really builds his character too. The fight scene shown was also pretty epic.

6. Luke's pessimism

I understand why Luke disappeared and would have some reservations when Rey randomly shows up atop his rocky hideout. Yet, Luke is entirely pessimistic throughout the entire trailer and it scares me because what does all this pessimism mean?! What side is Luke on?

7. SNOKE

Snoke is terrifying and that scene with Rey in pure agony it was too much for me. Simply too much.

8. THAT LAST SCENE

Does Kylo help Rey? Does Rey asking for help mean Luke abandons her? WHAT HAPPENS?

December 15, can't come fast enough!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
