So of course, some of these songs have nothing to do with fall whatsoever - but I'm throwing these incredible tunes out there because there is something about them that makes them feel more enjoyable in the fall. (From my personal experience) From Beach House to Bon Iver, these are just a few picks that make the autumn season more exciting and interesting. So get comfy - because whether you're staying in with a blanket and a cup of tea, or going on an afternoon hike under the changing trees, these songs should brighten up your fall.
Hurricane - Ms. Mr.
I first heard this song at the end of 2013 when I was starting my first year of college - and I think I associate this song with fall so much because I listened to it so much in during the month of October. Now, it's just one of my all time favorite fall time anthems, and it just kind of stuck.
The Bells - Lowell
I actually heard this song in the summer time, but something about it screams "fall". Lowell is an amazing singer, and she makes some of the coolest music videos that ooze "pastel goth cool girl" aesthetic. (Yes, I just made that up) But nonetheless, a tune needed to be heard this fall to get you in an energetic mood.
Wide Eyes - Local Natives
Local Natives has been one of my favorite bands since high school. I think they're perfect for a fall playlist because they're a wonderful blend of laid back, chill, and yet they get you excited about life - and they always say that fall feels like beginning to the start of something new, right? No, I'm kidding. But that's how I feel. Give this song a try, and you'll fall in love with it's cool vibes.
Holocene - Bon Iver
Why in the world wouldn't Bon Iver be on this list? Did you know that he is from Eau Claire, Wisconsin? I'm sorry, but if that doesn't scream "fall", then I don't know what does. Bottom line, you need some Bon Iver in your ears this upcoming fall . . . and winter . . . and summer . . . all day, everyday.
Walk In The Park - Beach House
The song Walk In The Park by the cool indie band Beach House specifically reminds me of fall, because I heard this song in the movie Daydream Nation - where most of the film took place during the autumn months. As you probably have noticed, most of these songs have been associated with real life fall experiences, but that's the beauty of it. But for real, I totally recommend this song and this band.
1956 - Milo Greene
This. Music. Video. That's all I have to say. Just watch the music video first, and pretty soon, you won't be able to not think about pretty fall trees changing colors, scarves and hot cider, and combat boots. Granted, I'm pretty sure the music video takes place during the summer time, but there is something about the aesthetic that makes it seem like a fall time anthem. Even the beautifully haunting chorus will remind you of those cloudy fall afternoons, and you'll appreciate it.
