I’ve always loved traveling, ever since I was a little girl. Airports make me so happy. Waking up early to catch a flight, getting the pat down from TSA, and watching my belongings get rummaged through is definitely worth it. My mom was born in Portugal, moved to Cape Verde, then moved to the United States. My dad was born in Jamaica, then moved to the United States. Traveling is in my blood. Here are ten reasons why everyone should travel!

1. Traveling changes you as a person because you get to experience a new way of life.

It connects you with new cultures, and the diversity you will be submerged in is amazing.

2. You come back home different because you got to see how others live.

If you travel to a poverty stricken country, you will quickly learn why you shouldn’t waste food, taking things for granted, and other lessons that many people don’t pay attention to.

3. Traveling makes you more independent, since you are in a completely unknown place, and you have to put yourself out there to get what you need or want.

4. Travel forces you to be social.

Since you’re going to be on that plane for quite some time with the people next to you, you might as well make it worthwhile.

5. Traveling is super fun because you get to meet new people and form new relationships.

6. You get your goals on track, because once you see the white sand and crystal blue water you begin to realize there’s more to life than working and paying bills.

7. Traveling definitely proves that dreams come true.

You wished it, and you did it!

8. You get cool stories to tell everyone.

It’s always fun to just sit back with all your friends or family and just talk about the vacation you just had.

9. The memories you make will be cherished for the rest of your life.

10. Travel gives you time to break away from the daily life schedule and just relax.

Traveling is an important aspect of life, and everyone should do it. Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
