The "I'm Fine" Epidemic
eskipaper.com

At least once a day, in response to asking someone how they are doing, I am shattered with the response of "I'm fine." Why do we lie to not only others but to ourselves? Is it easier? Does it cut conversations shorter? Who benefits?

There are many circumstances in which being merely fine during times of hardship is remarkable, but in most instances, average people are settling with being just "fine."

Do not give what hurt you today the power to hurt you tomorrow. You have more control than you know. Turn the ugliest of situations into paintings. There is no greater feeling than redemption. You are capable of great things - greater things.

Why do we settle with being just "fine"? Because it's easy or we are unaware of how much more control we have!!! Each effort we make to bring change to our current situation makes a difference.

How can we live up to our full potential or set a good example for others if we settle on being just "fine"? We can't. We can live up to great things, but not our full potentials. The example we set for our friends, family, and strangers too- has an effect on everyone. We need to infuse our society with grit and perseverance.

Why settle for being just "fine" when you could be great? It may be easier to remain numb or miserable, but taking risks and daring yourself to grow may set you up for success.

I know how hard it is to wake up on a Monday morning, bright and early, trying to find the will to crawl out of bed. I am not going to be unrealistic and say, "Don't hit the snooze button!!" I myself hit the snooze button very often. However, when I get up I decide to make something productive of each day.

You are worthy of being great. Please do not settle for being just "fine." You are truly not fine at best, and deserve to be at least well. Dare yourself to make even the smallest of a step once a day. Grasp that you are not sentenced to a merely ordinary life. You are sentenced to nothing but what you make of your life. Do not continue to accept being just "fine." You will regret having just a "fine" life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
