The Homestretch... Spring Break To Summer

1

The time in between spring break and summer is going to fly by. Before we know it, we are going to be back in our hometowns in our warm cozy beds watching Netflix all summer long. After about one week of this, the only thing on our mind will be tailgate season that is coming up in a few months. However, these few months are going to feel more like a few years. So, in order to make the best of the little time we have left of this school year we are going to need to do a couple things.
Take advantage of 2 for 1 Tuesdays at the KK while we still can.  While lying in bed doing nothing but re-watching Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill, we are probably going to be pretty sad that we can't be sitting at the KK in a classic red booth double fisting pink drinks. Since Tuesdays are two for one, it is crucial that we take advantage and keep both drinks for ourselves. When we hear the song, "Timber," and aren’t able to dance to it in the small dance section in the back corner of the KK, we will truly be sad. This is when we start rethinking not staying in Madison for the summer.
Study a little bit harder for your exams. There is nothing worse than sitting at home and feeling like you have failed your way through college. Knowing that you received good grades will give you hope that there is more to do with your life than lay in bed all day. It will give you motivation to get the same good grades in the fall. Plus, your parents will be impressed.
Enjoy the Kodak moments instead of taking pictures during them. Nothing ruins a moment more than stopping to find your phone to snap a picture. The moment is no longer cherished. Sometimes we just need to put our phones away and appreciate a night out with good friends.
Make that extra effort to get to know people. There is not much time left to do this, so what better time than now? It will be fantastic to go back to school in the fall with more friends than you had the year before. This means more nights out, more connections to different parties and more possibilities that somebody can help you out with a class that you are struggling in.
See your advisor. Make sure that you are on the right track to graduation and getting all your requirements fulfilled. When your registration time during the summer opens up you need to make sure that you are prepared and have some back up classes ready. There will be no running up Bascom hill from your house to seek your advisor's help when you realize all the classes that you want are no longer open.

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
