The Guilty Pleasures College Girls Love To Pretend We Don't Indulge In

So what if I want to watch a 2 am Say Yes To the Dress marathon while devouring an entire bag of Doritos?

Everyone has something that they just can't resist, that thing you know you shouldn't do but you do it anyway. Guilty pleasures are those things we all love to hate, and pretend to be above giving in to. The thing is there's nothing to feel guilty about. Taking part in things every once in awhile that make you happy even though they're probably not the best choice isn't all that big of deal. In celebration of our many guilty pleasures and the face that not even the most self-disciplined of people can avoid having at least one, here I have shared a few guilty pleasures that I and many others have no plans on giving up.

1. Watching reality TV

There's the die hard Bachelor fans, the girls who can name any one of the Real Housewives from any state and the food network enthusiasts that spend hours watching Chopped and Cupcake Wars. These days the list of reality TV shows is almost as long as the number of "good" shows on air, and yet so many of us just can't resist watching the scripted and often mundane activities of ordinary people. Whether it's because you love the drama or simply love to make fun of the people that go on these shows, reality TV is just one of those things that can make a bad day a little better.

2. Binging on disgusting amounts of food

Maybe you ordered a pizza for one with plans to keep leftovers for another meal, but somehow the entire pie was gone before you knew it. You might have had one or two times, in which you ate that entire pint of ice cream or found yourself scavenging for crumbs at the bottom of a newly opened bag of Doritos. It's easy to do and anyone who says they've never done this is lying to your face.

3. Taking ridiculously long showers

Leaving the warm water to step out into cold air and go back to whatever work is waiting for you that day makes standing under the hot water long after you're clean hard to resist. Adding another 10 mins onto your shower simply because you can pretend you have no stress in there or sing along to your favorite songs are both good reasons to take part in this guilty pleasure despite you know, the water bill and fact that you're wasting all that perfectly good water.

5. Eating really late at night

You know you could probably just go to bed and that you're not so much hungry as you are bored, yet the box of Thin Mints in the cupboard is calling your name. When you're finally free to relax and have sat yourself in bed with Netflix queued up late night eating just kind of goes to hand in hand despite knowing better.

6. Watching and rewatching movies you've already seen 30 times

For whatever reason, the comfort of putting on a movie that you know every line to never seems to fade. Even if this time spent rewatching Harry Potter films could spent watching a new movie like this year's Oscar winner or better yet, doing something genuinely productive, it can be one of the best ways to forget about stress for a little while.

There's no reason to entirely restrict yourself from doing any of these, so go let yourself indulge in whatever guilty pleasure was on your mind the entire time you were reading this.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
