A few years ago, while watching one of my favorite beauty gurus on YouTube, I discovered the concept of subscription boxes. For those that don't know, subscription boxes are usually sent out once a month or a few times a year and have themes of what's inside. The buyer pays a fee to receive a box of goodies that are more often than not a surprise to the buyer. The concept of subscription boxes has expanded greatly over the last few years. Here are some of the best companies that sell these products.
1. Ipsy
For ten dollars a month, you can receive a beauty bag that is personalized for you. When you join the website, you select what types of products you like best. Each month, you receive five products to keep that range from nail polish to lipstick and even skincare.
2. Book Case Club
If you love to read like me, this subscription box is worth the money. Each month, you will receive two books to keep from a genre of your choosing. The price is $9.99 a month but there are payment plans that allow you to pay annually too.
3. Birchbox
Birchbox is a subscription service that is great for both men and women. The boxes are tailored to your needs and you can select whether you want hair, beauty, lifestyle or apparel items. The box is fairly priced, $20 a month, and is certainly worth the cost. You can also select curated, pre-made boxes or let them decide the products for you.
4. Fab Fit Fun
If you are looking for a variety of products, this subscription service is for you. Every three months you will receive a box filled with full-sized products relating to beauty, wellness, fitness and fashion. The subscription is quite expensive, $180 a year for only four boxes. But there are more products of a higher quality in this box as opposed to those of other companies.
5. Bark Box
For those dog lovers out there, Bark Box is perfect for your furry friend. Each month you will receive 4 to 5 toys and treats or hygiene products that your dog will enjoy. The company even selects products based on the size and personality of your dog. Prices for the subscription box vary but average less than $30 a month.
6. Turntable Kitchen
Okay, I must admit, this subscription service is my favorite. Turntable Kitchen offers a "Pairing Box" that sends you ingredients to make a delicIous dinner and music to listen to while you cook and entertain. It is a great concept and allows you to try new things to eat and new music to listen to every month for only $25.
