Well its that time of year again...Christmas!!!! I don't know about you but I think it really is the most wonderful time of the year. With the presents and the beautiful trees. maybe some snow its such a great joyous time. It is during this time that most retailers use different bags or cups or other retail items. Which brings me to the Starbucks Cup. Once again people are pissed about it, and quite frankly, I think this is a stupid thing to be pissed about.
This year people are mad because the cup isn't red...like really?? Come on, it is a cup! You are going to drink your coffee then throw away the cup. What is the point of being so pissed about something so minimal? Starbucks cups around the Holidays are typically red, but green is still a Christmas color. I think it is a nice cup personally. The cup is a mosaic of people to represent community. Now isn't that nice?
Like I said before, it is only a cup that you are just going to show away...so stop your b*tching and drink your coffee like a normal person. There are more important things to be worried about. Like the election or the upcoming holidays or a test in Chemistry. People need to stop focusing on these small meaningless things like the design of a cup. It seems like a waste of energy to me.
Meg Towner @MegTowner tweeted: Went to get my first Red Cup and it's GREEN? WHAT? My gingerbread latte is instantly less festive. So mad @Starbucks.
crystal fox @bluefox198107 tweeted: @Starbucks This is ugly. I want snowflakes!
“The green cup and the design represent the connections Starbucks has as a community with its partners (employees) and customers. During a divisive time in our country, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared values, and the need to be good to each other,” Howard Schultz, chairman and CEO said in the release.
Maybe all the people that are truly pissed need to know the meaning, I think it is kinda cool. Christmas is a time of happiness and family and peace. And that is what the Starbucks Cup message is trying to give to their customers.
Drink your coffee and shut up.
