Dear author of “Ladies, Nike Shorts And Leggings Are For The Gym, Nowhere Else”,
Do all women a favor and shut your conceited, self-righteous mouth. So, you work out a lot and like to look nice; well isn’t that fantastic. But, as soon as you said, “you couldn’t find a more vain or egotistical person in this world that could trump my inflated head” I knew that you and I were going to have issues.
Let’s begin with the fact that not all women are as uptight as you are, shall we? Not everyone grew up in a private school with fancy things; some of us went/go to public school and interact with people who don’t care about how we look or the clothes we wear. Some of us girls even actually enjoy the look of norts with oversized tee shirts. It happens to be a trend that you’re obviously unaware or not fond of. I, for one, love being able to dress comfortably for class, errands, or other random tasks I have to do every day. We don’t always have to look like we are coming from brunch, and if you think that’s the case then you’re in for a rude awakening.
Don’t get me wrong - dressing up is a lot of fun! But, you won’t catch me dead doing it every day. Does that make me less of a woman than you are? Certainly not. I happen to have an extremely bright future that doesn’t involve me judging others on something as petty as… Workout clothes. End of story.
Finally, while you may feel comfortable and confident in business attire, some people feel confident in their workout clothes. I happen to feel my best in spandex and a gym shirt that says “Beast Mode” because it makes me feel---well, like a beast. I’m not saying it’s always appropriate to wear workout clothes or leggings, but don’t expect women to wake up every day and go “I’m going to wear jeans and a button up today! Yay!” because it’s not going to happen. Especially for those of us who are in school, because there is no need to look nice. Who cares?
Seriously chick, you need to double check yourself and stop basing your views on women based on their clothes. This isn’t the 1800’s, it’s 2017, and we can basically wear whatever we damn well please without girls like you putting us down and thinking you’re better. You're not.
