The first time you meet your significant others family can and always will be stressful. Trust me, I know. But meeting his/her family doesn't always have to be stressful. Just talk and answer any and all questions they ask you, be polite, and you will get the stamp of approval. Here are the four phases you go through when meeting the parents...
Phase 1: Nervous Excitement
You have just hopped into the car and you are ready to go. You feel a little nervous but you are excited to meet the family that raised your significant other.
Phase 2: Squirming in your Seat
You have been sitting in the car for a little bit now and you can stop wiggling around. Your partner looks over at you and ask you if you are doing okay and all you can muster up is an "I'm fine".
Phase 3: Straight up Terrified
You have just pulled into the driveway and you can see his/her parents waving at you, and you can't help but wonder if it's too late to make a run for it.
Phase 4: The Greeting
Don't worry, by phase 4 you have met and talked with the parents, and you are probably joking around with them about your significant other.
See, I told you they would love you, you had nothing to worry about. And I'm sure that you and your partner will be together for a long time.
