This Saturday morning, I walked into Doak Campbell Stadium to watch a football game like I have been doing for the past 3 years now. However, this was no normal game.

This was the first game (and the first day) since Jimbo Fisher announced his acceptance of the Texas A&M Head Coaching job. This announcement came after a week of confusion, avoidance, and a lack of information. Today, a seven-year era ended, but a new and improved era has only just begun.

Rumors had been flying all week about whether Jimbo was going to take this new coaching positon or not. The first few days, people rejected the notion, writing it off as preposterous. But, much like this season was unexpected, Jimbo’s decision was unexpected amongst the fans and amongst the players. Not unexpectedly, there were many emotions running through Tallahassee yesterday and today.

People were pissed. People were sad. People had questions. But at the end of the day, FSU fans stayed loyal to their school and to their colors.

FSU sophomore student Kelsey Henderson made the observation, “Florida State University has one of the most loyal fan bases. We’ve had to deal with a lot this season between injuries and countless close, last-minute losses. But at the end of the day, the fans show up, we cheer, we paint our bodies, and we bleed garnet and gold! We deserve a coach that encompasses the heart of our fan base.”

Jimbo Fisher did great things for this football program, including a National Championship in 2013. I just wish I could add "grace when leaving" to that list of great accomplishments.

Today’s game in Doak showed me something—our spirit cannot be broken.

That, no matter what, we the students will love and support this school. Our ‘Noles pride runs deeper than one man, even a head coach.

Today marked the debut of Odell Haggin’s college head coaching, and we had a really great game and everyone in the stands was exciting to see him succeed. The energy was the flowing in the stadium, the hype was up, the emotions were high, and we broke the NCAA record for most consecutive bowl games! And we did this on the heels of head coach drama. The 'Nole Nation is not to be underestimated!

I am proud of this school. I am proud that we picked ourselves up today, and I am proud that the boys had a great game today. With the future of our football program suddenly unclear, what with the possibility of more than one new coach transition, graduating seniors, and a whole year to get ready for next year’s season, emotions ran high.

We did not let the negativity of the situation stop us from playing some great football. We will continue to move onwards to bigger and better things, and we will do it as a united student body.

Coach Odell, we applaud you on your win and we thank you for stepping up to the plate. Florida State, I look forward to the upcoming season and I look forward to getting to see our talent and our spirit shine through on the field that I know we will have, with or without Jimbo Fisher coaching on the sideline. This week has merely been a bump on our journey of success, and I believe that we will come back even stronger next season.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
