On the last weekend of April, seven dancers from Macomb Michigan were preparing for the 2018 USASF Dance Worlds Competition. Many hours of perfecting their routine in the studio, traveling to Orlando Florida to compete in the world championship at Colorado Springs, and polishing their presence with the most effortless costumes.
But for this preparation of this performance was a little different, for these seven dancers were bobby pinning and stretching to perform for the very last time.
Ava, Danielle, Katie, Olivia, and the three Emily’s Have achieved and created many memories together over the past twelve years. Starting off as one of the original babies of the studio, Training in the original and newest training facilities, and being the first Junior Varsity to represent and earn a title at Dance worlds. Other than competing and training countless amounts of hours together, their bond never stopped. In and out of the studio.
What is your favorite thing to do together outside the studio?

" I love just hangng out after school or on the weekends watching movies, playing video games or just listening to music and making a fool of myslef because I am so myself around them"
The beauty of every sport is the ability to experience individual achieve a dream as a team. This season, these dancers competed and trained in the senior small and large categories in Jazz, contemporary, and Pom.
The dancers have been perfecting their craft over the past years and continue to grow to achieve such a performance this past weekend.
What is one thing you will miss about the seniors once they graduate?

"The positive energy they brought in and out of practice"
Sophia-
"Probably getting called for senior small jazz as a champion and realizing it was the last time I could experience a win with them"
Gianna-
" Ill miss the most of how beautiful they dance and how hard they work not only to make them happy but the poeple around them"
After the championship

" After our final dance of the competition, I felt like my team and I gave everything we could and we just had a blast up on that stage. We just wanted to enjoy our last performance together as a team and this was just what we did"
At the end of the weekend, the dancers not only celebrated with the rest of the team but walked away with two gold medals and memories that will last a lifetime. All dancers not only excel in the dance room but in the classroom as well and will all be attending a University in the fall. Near or far, the bonds of the Dancers Edge sisters will never be broken.
