As the month of October comes to a close, the excitement of November is now beginning. November is the time of Thanksgiving. When we can be thankful for all the world has given us, especially our family and friends. Not only is it exciting that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but it is the time where all college students finally get a break from the hustle and stresses of being a college student.
Personally, I know that Thanksgiving isn't just my favorite time of the year to get together with all my family and friends and feast on all the delicious, mouth watering food that my mother makes every year, but it is the time where I get to go back to my home town and be reunited with all my best friends that went their separate ways to study and grow into an adult.
Not seeing your best friends for so long is something that makes college so unique. We are all so used to having our friends a minute away from us so that if we need them it isn't hard to go to them. Now being in college, you have to fully rely on your phone to stay in contact with your friends and boy is it hard. Between classes, a social life, and other extracurricular activities making time in the day to catch up is definitely not an easy thing.
The excitement I have to be back with all my friends and especially my family is something I look forward to in the month of November and will always be awaiting. Even though we all have a few short days at home, our lives during those days will be stress free.
Stress free. Sounds impossible, right? Well it's not. Think about it, every one knows the time of Thanksgiving to drop all of your responsibilities and worries. Teachers, doctors and people of every profession from near and far put a hold on their everyday lives and take these few days they have to spend time with their friends and family, the people who make them sane and motivate them to be the best version of themselves.
As Thanksgiving approaches, promise me one thing. Take the break you are about to be granted and do everything and be with everyone you love. If you want to go to the gym everyday, do it. If you want to sleep in your bed all day, do it. Whatever makes you the happiest, promise me you will do it. Don't take the few stress free days and put them to waist. Make them the best days you can possibly have because before you know it your short few day break is going to be over and you'll be in the car or boarding a plane to head right back to school, where your worries and stresses won't be a thing of the past anymore.
