Many American citizens from all over the country are currently taking hits from all sides of the field, though this seems to be a necessity on our parts. As Americans we may just need to lay down and take the hits that are given to us by our own country, without complaint.
Firstly, Donald Trump was elected president and while many people may agree with that, I personally don't. It bothers me that he is supported by countless individuals and organizations that have brought so much pain to our country. I don't believe that the people who support him are racists, sexists or homophobic. It just blows my mind how his supporters turn a blind eye when he does terrible things simply because he has a good plan to stop terrorism.
This bothers me but honestly, I believe that a lot of the harsher things he said were just words. Besides, it does no good to dwell on what you can't change. Electoral votes have been counted again and again, but nothing has changed, so as much as it pains me, we must move on.
Secondly, it surprises me that Donald Trump is not the worst thing about his administration. Every time I get a notification about someone who he has given a top position, I can't help but roll my eyes. Donald Trump can say that's he's not a racist until his face turns blue but when you elect a man like Steve Bannon to be your chief strategist, the argument gets a little sour.
Fine, Trump might not be a racist, but Bannon definitely is. No one can denounce that, especially since Breitbart News, where Bannon served as the executive chair, is described as an alt-right internet platform. All of this essentially has no positive or nice connotation to it.
Finally, there are the Republicans who find some sort of joy in making women, the working class and poverty ridden Americans miserable. Republican men have a fascination of defunding Planned Parenthood. Right wing conservatives have prioritized their love for pro-life over a women's right to choose. My stance? If you don't have a vagina, keep your opinion to yourself. You're not the one carrying the baby. It's us.
When it comes to removing Obamacare, I find it hilarious that now everyone seems to be having trouble trying to replace it. It's not a bad program, Maybe if the name were different, people wouldn't be hating on it so much.
The individuals who are removing Medicare and Medicaid, or are supporting to remove it, are probably the people who benefit the most from the big bills that working class people can't afford to pay without these programs. This kills off veteran programs, paying off medical bills and things of that nature.
With all of the external threats America is facing, the last thing we need is to be doing is fighting amongst ourselves.
