As I am writing this, the Miami Heat are down 3-1 to the LA Lakers after a hearbreaking loss. It is the general consensus that the Heat's Cinderella season is over.
Personally, I am not delusional. a 3-1 deficit for any team is no easy hill to climb over. Very few teams have been able to accomplish the feat of coming back from a deficit such as that. One of the only teams to have accomplished that were the 2016 Cavaliers, who were, ironically enough, led by Lebron James, who opposite to his position in 2016, is the one who now wields the 3 games to 1 lead. Lebron in 2016 had to put up elite numbers to come back from the deficit. Even then, Lebron James and the Cavs won by the slimmest of margins, with Kyrie shooting one of the most clutch shots in NBA history.
I think the Heat have the grit and the heart to come back from this deficit. The Heat have a lot of players that just do not give up. Players like Jimmy Butler are willing to put their body on the line for the win. The Heat also has this belief that no matter the situation, they can win. The Heat are sure to fight and play hard for as long as they can
Even if the Heat's season will end with Game 5 or a later game, the Heat have nothing to be ashamed of. They had an amazing season, a season that most people did not expect them to have. Many sports analysts and fans did not see the Miami Heat as a playoff team at the beginning of the season. At best, people said that the Heat would be a Sixth seed and a First Round Elimination. This Miami Heat team exceeded all of those expectation and proved a lot of doubters wrong.
Game 5 of the NBA Finals will be this Friday at 9pm. This, of course, will be make or break for the Miami Heat. They have the chance to prove whether they have enough fight left in them to compete against this LA Lakers team.
