11 Types Of People You Meet On Richard Ave EVERY Weekend
Derek Evanosky

Richard is the hot-spot for sin, regret, and red solo cups. It's where everything happens on Friday and Saturday nights, and it's where a lot of people have met most of their, now, friends.

While you do meet new people these nights, you also can't help, but notice there're people and events that always tend to pop up weekend after weekend.

That being said, here are the eleven people that you never fail to see on Richard:

1. The girl that can't find her friends

There's always that one girl describing her friend group to everyone that she passes. But will she find them? Probably not.

2. The guy that's just really happy he got pizza

With Big Richard's being so close to all the activity downtown now, this has become a more than common occurrence. The amount of smiling drunk guys that I see with pizza anymore is ridiculous.

3. The girl trying to bum a cigarette off of everyone.

There're so many people that only want to smoke when they're drunk. We've all been here, and none of you can deny that.

4. The passed-out guy in a Hawaiian shirt.

It's common knowledge that frat guys have a thing for wearing Hawaiian shirts, and with the amount of fraternities slowly gravitating towards Richard, this is becoming normal.

5. The arguing couple in the middle of the street.

I mean, you can just tell it's not going to last, but you know damn well they'll be made up by tomorrow morning.

6. The girl that thinks everyone was in her WIFYS class.

Girl, slow your role. I have seen you one time at Kriner and that is all.

7. That guy you made out with at that one party that one time that you now manage to see every Friday.

Passionate then, but now - full of regret.

8. The guy that doesn't even go here.

It always happens - you add that one cute guy on Snapchat and then see his story a week later where every Geo-filter is at Penn State. If that's not disappointment, I don't know what is.

9. Your ex, without fail.

Run, bitch, run.

10. The girl who's drunker than she thinks she is.

AKA freshman.

11. Finally, the Snapchat friends you added tonight and already forgot tomorrow

Checking your Snapchat the morning after going out and seeing the five people that you had add you after your phone died at 1 AM is one of the best things about going out, and from personal experience, don't add them back. You don't want to see the awful selfie that you guys took and ended up on their story.

So, at the end of the day, these are the things that we see on Richard every weekend, but honestly, I think the majority of the student body can say that they wouldn't have it any other way.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
