It's pretty uncommon for college students to say this, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Even though I never understood why it has that name, I have my reasons for always looking forward to it. First and foremost, it gives me the energy I need for the day. Second, it gets me out of bed better than a shower in the morning. Last but not least, I can get to have dessert in the morning if I want!

Never in my life have I ever skipped breakfast, because I'd obviously be a trainwreck without it! Without much further ado, here are what I think are the best breakfast foods to enjoy on a regular basis:

Pancakes

This was the easiest choice for me, because why not? Honestly, I'm not a fan of making them, but I love them for their fluffy touch and effortless tan. For the record, I suggest not eating them with butter on top. It just totally spoils the taste of it.

Oatmeal

A must for anybody that needs that extra boost in not just their day, but some protein that you just can't get in meats and nuts. I don't recommend eating any brand that isn't Quaker Oats or Trader Joe's. And sometimes, I prefer to eat this in a granola bar.

Apples

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, and makes a better day! Cheesy, right? Food puns notwithstanding, this fruit is a great choice to maintain your sustenance throughout the day. The color doesn't matter. It's still the same effect all across the board.

Waffles

Remember "Leggo my Eggo"? I do. If you don't, I still deem waffles to be a great option for breakfast. I love them for the same reasons as pancakes, but there's still one issue I have: making them when they're frozen decreases their overall quality.

Pop Tarts

Everyone's guilty pleasure. Yeah, Toaster Strudels, muffins, donuts, etc. are relatively healthier by far, but nobody can say no to these. I suggest eating them raw. Truth be told, heating it up only ruins its edible factor.

Hard boiled egg whites

Quite possibly the most popular choice here. Everyone seems to prefer them scrambled, but it's no difference eating them in their original form. Also, these are better without the yolk. Don't need that extra cholesterol!

This may as well be a biased list, but there's a variety of foods for breakfast that everyone loves. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the six I ranked here would be among their favorites. With that said, have a smiling breakfast, and have some joy for lunch!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
