The Days Of The Week As Pizza

The toppings we love, the toppings we hate and the toppings we love to hate.

People around the world love pizza, and it's a favorite food of many, many Americans. What's not so clear, however, is what the best pizza toppings are. So at the risk of seeming pretentious, I've paired a set of toppings with each day of the week. Some are great, some are mediocre, and some are totally awful (both days of the week and pizza). Each day and each pizza has a personality to go with it.

Monday:

Monday's pizza would be topped with anchovies, jalapenos and garlic. Three strong flavors that only the strangest of people would appreciate – just like a Monday! We have nothing against you anchovy lovers, but we have to admit that it's a little weird.

Tuesday:

Tuesday's pizza would definitely be BBQ pizza with chicken, bacon, red peppers, onions, cheddar cheese and barbecue sauce. Tuesday is a little bit sweeter than Monday, but it still has a kick, and it won't let your forget it. The sweetness of the sauce and the sharp flavor of the cheese and peppers is exactly like a Tuesday.

Wednesday:

You either love the pineapple and Canadian bacon combo, or you hate it. Either the sweet and savory mix makes your taste buds tingle, or the idea of the contradictory flavors causes your nose to shrivel in disgust. There's no in between. Wednesdays are kind of the same way. It's Humpday, so it's halfway through the week, but it's also smack dab in the middle of the week. You love it or you hate it...

Thursday:

Olives, mushrooms and extra tomatoes. The ingredients on their own are pretty great, but they are kind of blah together. Nothing really exciting, and somewhat disappointing, like a Thursday. You wish there was more going on and you're just waiting for a better, more fun day.

Friday:

Friday is classic and something that you could experience over and over again and not get tired of, like pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Pepperoni is the most loved topping in America, and Friday is the most loved day. It's quite simply a match made in heaven.

Saturday:

Meat lovers pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon pieces and hamburger is like a huge party in your mouth. And it goes without saying that Saturday is a day to party. Whether your definition of partying is going out clubbing, or gardening all day long, or reading a book until your eyes are crossed, Saturday is a glutton of self-love. Just like a meat lover's pizza.

Sunday:

Vegetarian pizza made with spinach, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles and fresh basil is the epitome of a Sunday. Sunday is relaxing, it's flavorful...but it's lacking that full substance that you get from meat. And the blue cheese? That's a sharp punch in the tongue to remind you that tomorrow is Monday, the yuckiest of all flavors. So enjoy this sweet, flavorful Sunday, and brace yourself for the new week.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
