Holly Black is known for writing marvelous and magical faerie story. And she did it yet again. 'The Cruel Prince' is Black's newest release and the first book in a trilogy. It follows Jude, who was kidnapped at a child and taken to the land of faerie. She never really felt like she belonged there, since she is human, even though the faeries accept her. Everything goes from there.

I found the story really interesting, and it had a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming. A criticism that a lot of YA books get is that it's all kind of predictable. Sometimes it is, but I don't think that that's always a bad thing. It's just a story arc that seems to do well. Nevertheless, that's not the case here. The story was original and had a good plot.

The writing was really good! I have yet to read her other works (such as 'The Spiderwick Chronicles') but I have heard great things about them and am certainly planning on reading them. I really liked Black's writing style, it reads very easily and varies just perfectly.

I thought the characters were very well done. You got to know them pretty well and the same goes for the side characters. Not everything is explored fully yet, but it is a trilogy so there's still a lot of room for that. Next to that, the pacing of the story was also really good. Some people found it a bit slow in the middle, and I can see why. But personally, I didn't really have a problem with it. I thought it was pretty well-paced.

So, overall I think 'The Cruel Prince' is a pretty decent read. You Should really pick it up, especially if you love faeries! It's great for fans of Sarah J Maas (Throne of Glass / A Court of Thorns and Roses) and Julie Kagawa. Be sure to check this new novel out!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
