I'm just going to start off by saying, why. Why are you going to the point where you have to tell yourself, "oh wells its 4 am, I better just stay up the rest of the night."? I go to Northview High School, home of the Advanced Placement courses.
While this may not be entirely true, the amount of pressure the kids at my school put themselves under can undermine their confidence and ruin their ability of socializing and living a normal high school student life. People will tell themselves, "It's ok, I can take the extra stress and pressure."
But in reality, they are having their confidence shaken each day with the extra work they put themselves under. Not to mention, the emphasis on Extra Curricular activities. All this only prevents proper learning from taking place and helping students realize their true potential and passion.
Some people may contradict to my point on this article and state that taking a lot of AP's shows college their course rigor and ability to get and keep the grade in advanced classes. But is it really worth it if you social and educational lessons are going down the drain in favor of just taking hard classes. Most people want to keep their GPA high and overloading prevents this. Is it really worth ruining our lives for some classes that may not even help your or pertain to you in the future?
