Just try it once they said. It's not like you'll get addicted or anything. Ten years later and I need it every morning to start my day. Then again after lunch. Then sometimes in the evening to fuel my all nighter. What could I be talking about? A vodka stinger? Ecstasy? No silly! Just a plain old cup of coffee.

Coffee is an essential to many college students- whether it be served black, or a mocha frappucino with peppermint syrup and no whipped cream. Luckily, coffee is as abundant as cheap beer in a college town. From large chains to small local shops, there are plenty of choices.

So here is your Warrensburg Coffee Break(down).

1. Einstein's

With two locations on campus, one in the Rec and one in the Library, Einstein's is certainly a popular spot with UCM students. In addition to tea, coffee, espresso drinks, and smoothies, students can also grab a bite to eat here. On the menu are, of course, the bagels and other pastry items, as well as sandwiches, salads, and flat breads.

I personally would recommend the Strawberry Banana Smoothie, White Chocolate Mocha, or Brewed Neighborhood Coffee.

2. Jazzman's

Another on campus stop for coffee is Jazzman's, located in the Student Union. Jazzman's is notable for its unique specialty drinks like the Creme Brulee or the Tuxedo. However, the real star of the menu here are all the bakery items.

From Jazzman's, I would recommend any of the brewed coffees alongside a cookie or muffin.

3. Starbucks

Located in the brand new building, The Crossing, Starbucks has been a long awaited addition to the Warrensburg coffee scene. What java fan has not been to Starbucks at least once? Starbucks is definitely one of the hotter spots in town and an extremely convenient stop for most students. Not to mention, Starbucks is my go to for my caffeine fix- most of the staff know me by name now, it's a real issue.

Recommendations include: White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Apple Spice, Mocha Frappucino, and the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

4. Scooters

One of the newest spots in Warrensburg for coffee, as well as a favorite of mine, is Scooters, located on Maguire (by King Chef and Subway). Scooters is a coffee stop for anyone with a sweet tooth. The menu includes specialty drinks such as the Candy Bar Latte which allows customers to have any candy bar imaginable in coffee form, the Turtle Latte, and the Carmelicious.

My favorite drink on the menu is the Turtle Latte, but you can't go wrong with the Candy Bar Latte.

5. Old Drum Coffee House and Bakery

Located in Downtown Warrensburg, Old Drum Coffee House and Bakery is the perfect blend of small town small business and big city coffee. All the bakery items are made from scratch at the coffee house, but served alongside KC Roasterie coffee. Old Drum also offers Vegan and Gluten free options.

Personal recommendation? You can't go wrong with Roasterie coffee.

6. Java Junction

Also located in Downtown Warrensburg is Java Junction, located at the corner of Pine and Holden. The seldom open shop closes daily at 2pm, is only open until 12:30pm on Saturday and is closed on Sunday. However, this small shop has recently become the whole sale coffee supplier to Small Cakes in Warrensburg, making their product just a bit more accessible.

Java Junction's brewed coffee is delicious and they have a wide tea selection.

7. The Go Go Bean

The Go Go Bean is a hidden gem located on Highway 13 near DD fields. The small shop is a drive through establishment offering several specialty drinks as well as delicious brewed coffee. For your friends that don't drink coffee (what is wrong with them?!?), there is a wide array of coffee free items on the menu including blended frozen drinks, smoothies, and Italian Sodas. The Go Go Bean is also wallet friendly with regulars.

r discounts and promotions (watch their Facebook page for these deals!)

Recommendation: The Cinnamon Delight. White Chocolate, Cinnamon, and Dark Chocolate in Latte Form. Yum.

Alright junkies- there's the breakdown. Now go feed your addiction.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
